Polymarket's PM Derivatives Wins NFA Approval as Futures Broker
Polymarket's brokerage arm PM Derivatives has secured NFA approval to operate as a futures commission merchant, giving the platform a fully regulated U.S. presence.
PM Derivatives, LLC, the brokerage subsidiary of prediction market platform Polymarket, has received regulatory approval from the National Futures Association to operate as a futures commission merchant, the company announced November 3, 2026.
The approval authorizes PM Derivatives to act as a broker for customers on a fully collateralized basis, a structure designed to limit counterparty risk by requiring positions to be backed dollar-for-dollar. With the clearance now in hand, Polymarket holds a regulated exchange, clearinghouse, and broker under one operational umbrella within the United States.

The development marks a significant compliance milestone for a platform that built its early reputation operating outside traditional U.S. regulatory frameworks. Obtaining NFA registration signals a strategic pivot toward institutional legitimacy and broader domestic market access, as prediction markets attract growing interest from traders and policy analysts alike.
Fully collateralized futures arrangements are distinct from traditional leveraged futures products, reducing systemic exposure while still allowing participants to take positions on event-driven contracts. The structure aligns with the NFA's customer-protection standards and may lower the barrier for retail and institutional participants who previously faced legal uncertainty when engaging with prediction markets.
The NFA approval represents one of the more concrete steps any prediction market operator has taken toward full U.S. regulatory compliance, potentially setting a precedent for competitors seeking similar legitimacy. Continue reading at All Financial Services & Investing.
