Finatrades Launches Three Products to Close Trade Finance Gap
Swiss fintech Finatrades introduces FINABRIDGE, FINASWAP, and RPAY to address a $2.5 trillion global trade financing shortfall.
GENEVA — Finatrades Finance SA, a Swiss-based financial technology and trade finance company, announced the rollout of three new products designed to ease access to cross-border trade financing, targeting a gap the firm estimates at $2.5 trillion globally.

FINASWAP targets cross-border payment friction, while RPAY introduces commodity-based settlement solutions intended to give trading counterparties alternative ways to close transactions.

The announcement, made from Geneva, positions Finatrades among a growing cohort of fintech firms attempting to modernize trade finance infrastructure, a sector long dominated by traditional correspondent banking relationships that critics say leave smaller importers and exporters underserved. The three-product expansion reflects a broader industry push to deploy technology-driven instruments where conventional bank credit remains constrained.
The $2.5 trillion financing gap cited by the company reflects a persistent challenge in global commerce, particularly for businesses in emerging markets and small-to-midsize enterprises that frequently struggle to secure letters of credit or supply-chain financing from established lenders. Commodity-backed settlement mechanisms like RPAY represent one approach to working around those constraints without relying solely on traditional credit assessment.
